A new chapter of Vox Populi! – conflict, memory, and peace: how to educate inside and outside the classroom

Vox Populi is back!

As part of its Education and Science Diplomacy project, CAPAZ is producing several web series intended to transfer academic knowledge to a more public sphere. For example, in the first chapter of Vox Populi, the German Ambassador to Colombia, Peter Ptassek, spoke with CAPAZ Academic Director, Stefan Peters, about the German elections in October 2021 and their impact on the Colombian peace process.

Below you can watch the first episode of Vox populi:

The video series has a particular format: in each episode, two experts sit down to answer the questions we previously ask passers-by to answer.

On this occasion, Patricia Nieto, professor and researcher at Universidad de Antioquia, and Gabriel Ruiz from Universidad de Medellín, sat down to talk about and answer questions about the relationship between education and peacebuilding. The questions included issues such as how to keep children away from armed or criminal groups, how to reach children through education to prevent them from falling into drug trafficking networks, why there is no transparency when it comes to teaching in schools about the roots of the armed conflict, and how to prevent children from falling into drug trafficking networks.
