The CAPAZ-supported Nodo Alemania has organized a participatory workshop in which memories, facts, and feelings can be shared through artistic expression.
The workshop will serve as a forum where those involved can come together, reflect, interweave, and narrate stories about life and resistance using threads, weaving, and embroidery, allowing memories to flow freely, inviting encounters and dialogue with others, to listen to and recognise the uniqueness of each participant’s experiences.
The exercise of memory through art allows us to recognise our truths, our silences, summoning us to heal ourselves collectively. The workshop provides participants with a chance to unweave, weave again, and knot our emotions, to recognise our stories, to reflect on the country’s current situation, and to use needle and thread to express narratives of resistance, joy, tenderness, togetherness, resilience, dignity, and hope.
Participants are invited to reconstruct the collective memory so that the truth about the war we have lived through in Colombia can emerge, allowing progress in terms of peacebuilding and non-repetition.
Place: Asociación cultural Iberoamericana eV.
