First CAPAZ scholarship holders participated in the JLU Summer Law School in Giessen, Germany

On August 12th, 2017 the Summer School in International and Comparative Law organized by the Justus Liebig University (JLU) Giessen in Germany, in which six Colombian students from different universities of the Institute CAPAZ participated, came to its end. The event was closed by the President of the JLU, Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee and the coordinator of the German CAPAZ consortium, Prof. Dr. Thilo Marauhn.

The Summer School offered courses in areas such as International Economic Law & Business Transactions, Comparative Constitutional Law, Business Ethics and Human Rights Law and Cyber Law. For participation in both the academic as well as the cultural activities of the program, the Colombian students received a scholarship from the Institute CAPAZ and a top-up scholarship awarded by JLU. The program also included field trips to Berlin and Hamburg and gave an insight into German history and culture. After and open selection process, the CAPAZ scholarships and JLU top-up scholarships were awarded to Lina Paola Chaparro, Yenifer Suárez, Paola Balanta, Lucía Torres, Laura Catalina Guerrero and Andrea Katherine García.

Soon the Institute CAPAZ website will include a section which will be exclusively dedicated to the experience of our students in the JLU Summer Schools.
