Invitation to participate in the Dialogues on Latin America in Hofgeismar, Germany

The conference entitled (in German): Krisen-Klima: Umweltkonflikte aus lateinamerikanischer Sicht im Gespräch mit Kirchen, Wissenschaft, Politik und Zivilgesellschaft will be held from 24th to 26th January 2020 at the Evangelische Akademie Hofgeismar in Germany.

The general theme of the congress revolves around current issues such as climate change, pollution and environmental crises, which threaten human existence and the planet. The consequences are not only subscribed to the natural sciences, but affect aspects that are also addressed from the social, political and economic sciences. Emphasis will be placed on the situation in the Latin American region.

On January 25, 2020, Prof. Dr. Stefan Peters, CAPAZ Academic Director and Professor at the Justus Liebig University Giessen will present his paper entitled (in German): “Neo-Extraktivismus in Lateinamerika nach dem Ende des Rohstoffbooms”, in the panel on the topic of neo-extractivism and the green economy.

The event is organised by CAPAZ, CELA (Universität Kassel), and the Centre for Inter-American Studies (Universität Bielefeld) and Engagement Global of BMZ, in cooperation with CALAS and the Academia Evangelische Akademie Hofgeismar.
