The CAPAZ Spotlight on Peace series 2019 begins!

 

 

The German Colombian Peace Institute – CAPAZ is pleased to invite those interested in joining us for the events planned, in Germany and Colombia, into the academic calendar for the first semester of 2019.

The Spotlight on Peace series will begin with the discussion session entitled: “The role of academia, international cooperation, and peacebuilding” on Thursday May 9, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at Claustro de San Agustín in Bogotá (Cra. 8 No. 7-21).

Topics

For the first semester of 2019, the program includes discussion sessions, lectures, workshops and conferences on current topics on peacebuilding in Colombia:

– Academia, international cooperation and peacebuilding (Opening event)

– Transitional Justice: Special Jurisdiction for Peace – JEP, Victims’ Participation and Memory

– Gender, right-wing populisms and peace

– Construction of the historical memory

 

Colombia and CAPAZ in the international context

The Spotlight on Peace series includes activities in Germany and Colombia. Some events will take place at Cloister of San Agustín, headquarters of the CAPAZ Institute, and at some universities of the CAPAZ consortium. In Germany, there will be events in Berlin, Eichstätt, Giessen and Göttingen.

All events are free entry and open to the public (there will be some requirements such as registration according to the event).

Participants will include professors and researchers, artists, writers, as recognized experts linked to universities and research institutions.
