Workshop “La tenencia de las tierras: un instrumento esencial para la paz en Colombia”

The University of Göttingen, Universidad Nacional de Colombia and Universidad Santo Tomás held in Bogotá on 13 and 14 March 2018 the workshop “La tenencia de las tierras: un instrumento esencial para la paz en Colombia”.

The academic agenda included topics of the land tenure, focused on aspects such as the land restitution, the law of sustainable development, and the tensions between agriculture and soil protection.

The participants debated the (re-) construction of an agrarian structure on the background of a state intervention in an economical field in the postwar period in Europe. They discussed the comparative case of the hereditary building right between Colombia and Germany.

At the end of the workshop, the participants presented the results of the first phase of the explorative study on the regime of land tenure in the Department of Meta supported by the CAPAZ Institute, and the perspectives of the study’s second phase.
