The Seminar of Romanistics of the Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany and the German-Colombian Peace Institute – CAPAZ are pleased to invite to an session with the Colombian writer Laura Restrepo on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. in Giessen (KiZ (Kongresshalle, Südanlage 3a, 35390 Gießen).
During the talk, the Colombian author will share some passages from her recent novel “Los Divinos”, which will be launched in 2020. The meeting will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Verena Dolle and Danae Gallo González from the Justus Liebig University Giessen. Laura Restrepo will also participate in an academic workshop on the peace process in Colombia also at the same University.
In June 2019, Laura Restrepo participated in two CAPAZ-organised events, in association with the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. The first was held at Claustro San Agustín where she was joined by writer Evelio Rosero to discuss literature, violence and memory. And the second was the open conference entitled “Literature, disaster and peace. Local and Global Scenario”, given by the writer at Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá.
