Advisory

The advisory function is related to the interaction of CAPAZ with other institutions interested in peace-building. These institutions belong to sectors such government, civil society, academy and firms. The advisory function of CAPAZ strengths the institutional capability for decision-making and the design of public policy based on evidence from research.

One of the main achievements of CAPAZ was the signature of the cooperation agreement with the Centro de Estudios de Derecho Penal y Procesal Penal Latinoamericano (CEDPAL) of Göttingen University and the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP, in Spanish) in Colombia. This agreement facilitates the exchange of experiences in transitional justice, technical assistance in pedagogical processes, dissemination and the promotion of debates related to topics such as International Criminal Law and International Humanitarian Law.

Likewise it is important to highlight the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) subscribed by CAPAZ and the Commission for the Clarification of the Truth (CEV) in Colombia. Through this document, both institutions will promote joint research based on the mandate of CEV.

These initiatives have resulted in the formulation of the following projects:
