CALAS-FLACSO Platform for dialogue in Quito, Ecuador

The CAPAZ Institute’s Academic Director, Prof. Dr. Stefan Peters has been invited to participate in the dialogue platform “The Persistence of Inequalities in Latin America“, organised by the Maria Sibylla Meran CALAS-Centro Regional Andes and the FLACSO-Ecuador Research Colloquium on Political Sociology. The event is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

The event will take place on October 8-10, 2019 in Quito, Ecuador.

The central theme of the academic agenda revolves around inequalities in Latin America, from an interdisciplinary perspective. Participants will include researchers from universities and research centres in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Germany, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The CAPAZ Academic Director and Professor of Peace Studies at Justus Liebig University Giessen, Prof. Dr. Stefan Peters will be participating on Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Thematic Table 7: Territories, Socio-Spatial Hierarchies and Inequalities, with his presentation: “Social Inequalities in a Time of Neo-Extractivism in South America”.
