CAPAZ and Los Andes Seminars on Peacebuilding

CAPAZ and Los Andes Seminars on Peacebuilding

CAPAZ and Universidad de Los Andes have organised a series of online seminars on peacebuilding methodologies, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 14, 21 and 28, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (Colombia time).

The seminars provide an opportunity for students and professionals in peacebuilding studies to meet and discuss research and training processes. They explore emerging issues and topics of interest in a rapidly developing and complex area of knowledge and practice. The inter-institutional work between CAPAZ and Universidad de Los Andes is enhanced by this offer, which also promotes the dissemination of reflections from universities, research centres, social organisations and other entities to a wide audience.

Each meeting has its own transmission access, which you will find by downloading the information sheet of each colloquium below:

October 14, 2020. Local and institutional capacities for transitional justice.

This colloquium is about the possibility of building transitional justice from below, in the midst of a multiplicity of challenges in Colombia. Participants include Juliette Vargas (CEDPAL/CAPAZ), Santiago Camargo (OPI, PDPMM) and Mauricio García Cadena (JEP).

October 21, 2020. Peacebuilding methodologies: a look at territorial peace.

The discussion will revolve around how the territorial peace approach has reconfigured the notion of territory and the relationship between public policies and the expectations of communities in terms of peacebuilding. It will be hosted by Clemencia Carabalí (ASOM), Omar Salas (ARN) and Luis Berneth Peña (University of Jena).

October 28, 2020. How do we know that peace builds peace?

The discussion will focus on various initiatives to create tools and methodologies to measure peacebuilding. Laidy Leiton (DNP) and José Fernando Serrano and Carlos Andrés García (Universidad de los Andes) will accompany CAPAZ Academic Director, Prof. Dr. Stefan Peters.

There is no need to register in advance. Each connection link is enabled before it starts. Participants will remain in the waiting room and will be admitted as the seminar begins.
