“The impact of memorial work within the Colombian education community: an exploration in historical consciousness” is the research project developed in collaboration with the Institute of Latin American Studies (LAI) at Freie Universität Berlin and the Departamento de Lenguas y Cultura of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Universidad de Los Andes, Bogotá.

This research project is funded under the programme “COLUMBIA UNIANDES 2018 – Joint Research Grants” by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft-DFG) and the Vicerrectoría de Investigaciones of Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá) for a period of three years (2019 – 2021).

This study investigates the relation between memory work and its social outcome through a diagnosis of historical consciousness within the Colombian education community.

Dr. Mónika Contreras (LAI/FU Berlin) and Prof. Dr. Tatjana Louis (Universidad de los Andes) coordinate this research project. They started their research work on this topic collaborating in the exploratory study supported by CAPAZ in 2017.
