Session No.15: implementation and follow-up of CEV recommendations
Welcome to the seventh session of the International Inter-University Chair. Truth is a crucial element for the reconciliation of the parties to the conflict. This is why truth-building is described as an act of justice in itself: the public and official exposure of the truth enables forgiveness and reparations for victims.
Reparation processes include a wide range of legal and political mechanisms designed to hear and redress massive human rights violations in contexts of war. In this sense, the above applies to the case of the Colombian armed conflict.
In this session, we will discuss the implementation and follow-up to the recommendations of the CEV regarding the context of the Colombian with Luz Marina Gallego of the Follow-up Committee to the CEV report and Ruta Pacifica de las Mujeres; Wilson Castañeda, Follow-up Committee to the CEV report and director of Caribe Afirmativo; Pablo Abitbol Piñeiro, Professor – UTB Coordinator, Regional Historical Memory Group.
