The open event “Contours and trajectories of reconciliation” will take place on April 7. The second version of the online course “Pedagogies and politics of reconciliation: limits and possibilities of a concept under debate” is coming to a close. This course is part of the research study titled “Transforming social injustices and creating new social agreements: Pedagogies and politics of reconciliation” directed by Professor José Fernando Serrano at Universidad de los Andes. Fifty students took part in the course along with 12 national and international speakers.

The course addresses reconciliation from different perspectives including politics, public opinion, art, and social pedagogy, through seven online classroom sessions and seven independent work sessions. We also had online sessions dedicated to exchanging ideas and collective construction.

Graphic work was included in all sesión to help explain the concepts exposed.

The participants titled the closing session of this second version of the course “Contours and Trajectories of Reconciliation“. The session will be open to the public and will address four themes that comprehensively reflect the participants’ wide range of experiences and interests in reconciliation. These include reconciliation and the environment; reconciliation and politics; reconciliation and pedagogy; and reconciliation and diversity.

We invite those interested in analysing reconciliation to attend this space where students will gather what has been discussed and debated throughout the course and discuss future possibilities and current challenges related to reconciliation. This session will be led by professors Luis Berneth Peña (Center for Reconciliation Studies, Friedrich Schiller University Jena) and José Fernando Serrano (School of Social Sciences, Universidad de Los Andes).
