“A DEMOCRATIC STATE MUST RECOGNISE THE WORK OF SOCIAL LEADERS”: THOMAS KRÜGER

Thomas Krüger, President of the German Federal Agency for Civic Education, spoke with the Colombian newspaper El Espectador, during his recent visit to Colombia. CAPAZ invited Mr. Krüger to participate as an expert speaker in the forum on citizen political education, held on September 5, 2019 at Universidad Nacional in Bogotá, in association with the Centro de Pensamiento Nicanor Restrepo Santamaría (CeNiRS) at the same university.

In the interview with El Espectador, Thomas Krüger emphasised the defence of democracy, participation, dialogue and plurality for the construction of peace and the strengthening of an informed and educated public opinion on political issues, and on the daily lives of citizens.
